Located close to the airport at Point Jerome on the south-east coast of Mauritius, Preskil Beach’s position on a private peninsula gives it a romantic seclusion as well as being breathtakingly beautiful. The resort borders a turquoise lagoon which affords gorgeous views over the island of Ile aux Aigrettes just offshore and is close to the charming historic village of Mahebourg (perfect for some souvenir shopping) – it’s also around the corner from the stunning Marine Park at Blue Bay (home to spectacular coral formations which make it arguably the finest snorkelling spot on the island) The hotel is built in lively Creole style, with natural themes and materials such as cane and wood.

Preskil Beach is quite a sizeable resort at 200 rooms, and given that the entire resort is built in quite a concentrated fashion on the island-like peninsula and it lacks the very lush tropical gardens seen elsewhere, you perhaps don’t get the sense of spaciousness in the resort layout that you feel at other resorts. The main room type at the Preskil Beach are the entry level Lagoon Rooms (38 m²) which are to be found in two-storey buildings positioned towards the land side of the little peninsula, whereas the larger Prestige Rooms (42 m²) and Deluxe Penthouses (64 m²) are located in the 7 colonial style cottages located just off the beach offering breathtaking views over the lagoon and the outer islands (each of these cottages consists of 2 Prestige Rooms on the ground level with 1 Deluxe Penthouse located on the floor above in the roof space) These cottages are far more generously spread apart and are right on the beach too, so if your budget stretches to one of these higher room types it is definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

The beach at the resort has been split into 4 little sandy coves with a smattering of thatched beach umbrellas and loungers on each, the perfect spot for you to relax and chill whilst gazing out over the turquoise lagoon – the water here is champagne clear and hugely inviting especially during the summer months when the south-east trade winds are not as strong. Preskil Beach also offers a variety of free water sports and leisure activities for those of you who enjoy a bit of adventure - these include water skiing, wind surfing, kayaking, tennis, a gymnasium, beach volley ball and glass-bottom boat trips near lle aux Aigrettes. There are also two swimming pools with one integrated whirlpool and one with children's area. Talking of kids, they’ll also love the Miniclub offering loads of fun activities and the chance to make new friends and there are also babysitting services available upon request – that’ll then give you the chance to escape to the Ylang Spa with its five massage rooms and Japanese baths where you can enjoy a wide range of pampering treatments and massages - perfect for relaxing and unwinding!

After a day of fun in the sun, the Preskil Beach offers you the chance to eat in a variety of restaurants with a range of different menus and cuisine. Unwind over a cocktail or an ice cold Phoenix at the Indigo Bar alongside the swimming pool before heading to Spices, the main restaurant, specializing in huge buffets allows you to sample the local Creole cuisine as well as international dishes. If you fancy a change of scenery and something a little more intimate, there are 2 a la carte options where you can eat for a nominal supplement – firstly there’s the Tapas Grill and Beach Bar, perfectly located on the beach so guests can sit on the wooden deck and watch the sun set behind the horizon while enjoying dinner; finally if you’ve had enough of the delicious local seafood (difficult to imagine I know!) there’s also Charka, an ala carte steak house restaurant, featuring delicious cuts of meats imported from South Africa. As applies to the rest of the resort in fact, there’s something here for every taste!
