What's Hot

  • This little boutique resort of just 67 rooms is designed for romance - the adults-only policy with no kids allowed means you can just relax and soak up the privacy and tranquil ambience that prevails
  • We love the little thatched love nests dotted around the resort - for a special romantic treat, enjoy dinner at The Cove where you'll dine in small huts for two built on stilts right on the beach amidst a coconut grove!
  • The somewhat garish old Indian-influenced room decor is gone (thank goodness!) - the nautical colours of the revamped rooms is far more elegant and restful
  • Although a small resort at just 67 rooms, there's a really nice variety of dining options with 4 restaurants and a couple of bars guaranteeing you'll never get bored - the food and service get rave reviews too!
  • Quite a unique location for Mauritius with the hotel being positioned on its own little private cove with white sand beach - a very pretty spot and offers great protection too from the south-east trade winds that blow during the winter months

What's Not

  • Being situated around a small cove probably won't appeal to those people who prefer more expansive resorts with longer stretches of beach more conducive to wandering
  • The Paradise Cove is small AND popular - so finding availability can be tricky at times

This romantic adults-only boutique hotel of just 67 stylish rooms, a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is located on a secluded little cove with a small white sandy beach sheltered by a rocky peninsula on the North coast of the island, offering panoramic views over the ocean and five northern islands that lie just offshore. Designed with romance in mind, the Paradise Cove is scattered with thatched love nests and more than 100 sunbeds, with a winding sandy path through manicured gardens leading to a lovely cliff-top infinity pool overlooking the.

Whilst elements of whimsy include panels of strong colour, pillars and lattice windows remain from its previous incarnation as an Indian-themed hotel, the Paradise Cove underwent a massive transformation back in 2013 which has created an altogether more elegant and stylish boutique hotel. Painted a restful white, with splashes of vibrant colour, the hotel encircles a pretty, if small, manicured cove with swim up platforms.

There are just 67 rooms and suites, decorated in calming nautical shades of dreamy white and blue, with teak furniture, wonderfully romantic muslin-draped four-poster beds, spacious bathrooms and balconies or terraces overlooking the cove. There are 4 room categories to choose from, ranging in size from the 50 sqm Deluxe Rooms to the gorgeous Club Senior Suites at 90 sgm. Our choice perhaps would be the upper floor Deluxe Premium rooms in two storey buildings which are cosy and private, whilst for that added luxury, you can stay in a Club Suite and be granted exclusive access to The Club Lounge with its wonderful afternoon teas and special concierge and room service.

Dining is at four excellent restaurants serving a mix of international, Mauritian and Creole food. If its views you’re after, then head to the Indigo Restaurant and Pop-In Bar where you can drink in the spectacular views out over the northern islands with an ice-cold drink in hand! Come dusk, S.T.A.Y bar is the place to relax, sipping on tropical cocktails whilst admiring the sunset. There’s usually live and unplugged music on every evening here too but first enjoy dinner at a choice of restaurants. For local dishes, the Dining Room is ideal or experience à la carte Asian fusion cuisine at XO. For a real treat, book yourself a table at The Cove - small huts for two built on stilts right on the beach amidst a coconut grove, ideal for couples wanting a romantic candlelit dinner to the sounds of the lapping waves of the cove!

A variety of complimentary water sports are available, including waterskiing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling and kayaking. Scuba diving, kite surfing, submarine safaris, surf casting, big and small game fishing and parasailing are also available at an additional cost. Land activities include biking, fitness activities, tennis and yoga.

There are also plenty of excursions on offer such as visits to the fisherman village of Cap Malheureux, bicycle tours, endemic garden visits, visits to Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, Pirogue trips to Ile d'Ambre, speedboat trips to Ile de Paul and Virginic, speedboat trips to Flat Island with lunch at the Governor's House, full day catamaran trips with a barbecue lunch, full day yacht trips, private cruises in a 12-seat catamaran with dedicated crew, and sunset cruises.

Also recommended is a visit to Spa Cinq Mondes. Not only does it boast a clifftop infinity swimming pool for couples, a hammam and flower baths, you can treat yourself to an array of treatments including Indian Ayurvedic massages, Chinese Taoist massages, the "Aromas and Tropical Flowers" bath, the hammam, and face treatments. For those who would prefer to explore the shops and restaurants of Grand Baie, this vibrant village is just a short taxi ride away.
