What's Hot

  • Golfers will love the Ernie Els designed course here
  • Huge space with 6 kilometers of unbroken shoreline with rich vegetation and the bluest of lagoons!
  • Anyone and everyone wanting a secluded getaway can find a luxurious home from home here, from honeymoon couples to large families
  • Don't want to go out for dinner? No need! Just bring a chef laden with groceries in to cook!

What's Not

  • Maybe has the feel of a golf estate/suburb rather than a resort - which will appeal to those looking for a home away from home but not for those looking for the vibe and atmosphere of a normal resort
  • Not a great beach here - although you can take one of the regular shuttle boats to the fine sands at nearby Ile aux Cerfs
  • Bed & Breakfast as standard meal basis means extra thought will have to go into lunch and dinner plans and budgeting
Anahita

Anahitathe main drawcard for many guests is the unlimited golf on the excellent Ernie Els designed golf course but the Anahita also offers a huge range of activities for non-golfers

Anahita is a luxurious sanctuary located on the unspoilt east coast of Mauritius. Boasting nearly six kilometres of uninterrupted shoreline, this unique site offers a magnificent natural setting of lush vegetation and turquoise lagoons, close to the offshore paradise of Ile aux Cerfs. The only accommodation offered here are fully equipped and very luxuriously appointed residences or villas and so it’s really best suited to couples or family groups wanting more privacy and something more self-contained than the typical resort room. The resort even offers its own ‘village’ where you can purchase groceries for dining-in options.

The residences and villas come in different sizes to accommodate families or groups of different sizes - perfect if you are travelling with extended family. There are 70 luxury residences in total and the one, two and three bedroom residences have either breathtaking views of the turquoise lagoon or views of the lush golf course with a stunning mountain backdrop. But it’s not all about families and larger groups though – in fact the 1 bedroom Residences are a spectacular choice for couples wanting real privacy with their private infinity pool, and open deck as well as a lounge and dining area.

In addition to the Residences, there are three, four and five bedroom luxury Villas which feature private swimming pools, contemporary fitted kitchens, large outdoor patios and gardens and the services of a butler. Between the two options the choice really comes down to price and the size of your family / group. The villas are larger with bigger swimming pools and outdoor areas but both are superbly luxurious and fully equipped with all modern facilities.

What is nice is that you don’t need to eat out every day and many meals can be prepared in your own kitchen with groceries bought at the Waterfront Village on site. If that’s too much hassle but you don’t feel like going out, then the ‘dial a chef’ option is good fun where a personal chef will come to your room to serve you a fabulous meal! But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t more conventional dining options – in fact, there is a choice of 3 restaurants and a great beach bar.

The gastronomic restaurant Origine is a chic and romantic dining experience overlooking the ocean. Close to the beach and pool facilities, Bliss is the casual barefoot open air restaurant specializing in fresh fish, seafood and grills. Then there’s Cafe Sugar is where you may want to start your day with breakfast or choose from an assortment of light meals throughout the day. Finally why not head for a cocktail or light snack on the sandy terrace of the laid back open-air VU Bar - VU becomes a place for entertainment on selected evenings with live bands and special theme evenings. If that isn’t enough than you can even catch a water taxi over to the neighbouring Four Seasons Resort where guests on Half Board will be given a credit against their bill.

Obviously the main drawcard for many guests is the unlimited golf on the excellent Ernie Els designed golf course managed by the very slick Four Seasons resort, but the Anahita also offers a huge range of activities for non-golfers. Having been carved out of the rock, the created beach probably isn’t one of the best on the island but does give you the opportunity to chill on the fine white sand – alternatively why not take advantage of the regular shuttles to the gorgeous beaches of nearby paradise island of Ile aux Cerfs. Of course you could also just soak up the sun around one of the Anahita’s twin infinity swimming pools. A full range of watersports is available, including waterskiing, kayaking, snorkeling, sailing as well as scuba diving through the resort’s own PADI centre. Kids in particular will be happy as there are plenty of activities to keep children of all ages occupied and the OurSpace kid’s club has brilliant facilities, even offering the young ones introductory golf lessons, trips to lle Aux Cerf, glass bottom boat trips and scuba! One thing to remember though is that the kid’s club comes at a price (unlike most other hotels in Mauritius)
